As usual, the trip was urgent and last minute. Noone told me it's -10 in PEK but i did my research and brought my full on winter gear. It's crazy cold even at the airport train, mind you.
day 1 - wednesday
departed at 845am, arrived at 3pm, checked in at the hotel, got into soho office at 430 (meeting was scheduled for 4pm. crazy. they think im a superman can fly in)
430pm meeting for archi stuff + B1 and 1F interior.
this is the first serious meeting we've ever had so far and come to worst no Genevieve to translate for me. to my surprise i could understand more than half of what they're saying.
630pm dinner time. steamboat with the 3 of them.
8pm back to hotel.
10pm sleep. (only had 4.5 hours sleep before i board the flight)
day2 - thursday
930am soho office lvl11. great! our pm is not even in yet.
945am meeting. all interior issues.
1230pm lunch @chaowai soho.
2pm arrived at zhong guan chun soho. it was 45min cab rides. haha our site seemed dead, no one was working.. and the 'most important' silver spray paint was disappointing. - re spray pls! zillion unexpected size issues to clear now.
climbed all the way up to 13f while smsing mr seah.
5pm back in soho office. more meetings.
7pm we had buffet japanese dinner.
they made me eat till i felt like puking. anyone had japanese food with thick plain yogurt as drink? *mo muntah beneran.
9pm please leave me alone. shopping at viva. stocked up bubble gum for the office. * kasian bgt deh orang singapurrrrrrr.
day3 - friday
930am i think they ate too much, and couldn't wake up. i was the 1st to arrive in their office!!!!!!
10am meeting for signage.
1145am check landscape dwg.
12pm procurement dept people claimed today is their turn to bring me lunch. design dept couldn;t accept and insisted for combined lunch LOL. steamboat for 11 pax. took 2 hours. they were in weekend mood and suggested to xu chang ge *karaoke instead omilord- wo bu yao!
230pm back in office. resumed landscape check.
3pm landscape meeting with their landscape people. they got headache cos i asked for plants without flowers. no flowers just greens.
6pm *i w a n t t o g o s h o p p i n g*........................ but the meeting didn't seem to be ending anytime soon
645pm roof top signage issue.
7pm done done done... off to The Place.. 10 mins walk from soho office. it's too cold... very very cold! i bought a new black coat from JNBY * i know.. a bit late since it was my last night. but i know they are intending to send us to PEK every other month now to do site checks so i guess i will need one proper coat as ex sydney coats don't keep me warm enough that i have to wear multiple layers and feel like a walking ball i can roll...
8pm i was carrying stacks of drawings + my bag + shopping bag so i decided to go back to hotel 1st.
830pm 15mins walk from hotel to san li tun village. very modern shopping complex, one of the latest in town. there are uniqlo, steve madden, apple store, the opposite house (latest kengo kuma hotel project, the interior was superbly executed) *other stores are typical: mango, starbucks, and other local unknown brands. i got sick of the oily chinese food, so i grabbed a cheese wrap from starbucks for dinner tonight haha
9pm i wanted to go yashow market, next to slt village, but it was closed don't know why. so i went in uniqlo again. got myself and cla mens flannel check shirts. mine's beige with red and blue stripes (see blurry pic below haha) and her's dark green with blue lines.
10pm walked back to hotel and packed all stuff.
12am sleeping time.
615am to the airport.
845am back to sp
ore.
This is the most intense trip so far for soho - nonstop meetings + heavy lunches and dinners.
Plus alot of follow up work too - to be done before chinese new year... * oh i see late nights again...
